CIELO ROJO Y VERDE Y AZUL (Sky red and green and blue*) is light structure displays a series of compositions generated by switching on and off red, green, and blue lights. Each composition represents a character of the ASCII code, like a sort of alphabet of its own.
The memory of the attached Arduino system contains the poems from the BITMAP POEMARIUM book. The light composition changes according to the character read as the system reads the poems. In this installation, the composition changes every 17 seconds.
The poems generated by the suggestions of my mobile phone’s writing prompts come from data, which is the phone’s memory generated by recording my activity or usage experience.
I have decided to consider this data as a supply of energy that can be used to be manifested in different ways. Data then becomes information that can take different forms depending on the medium of “existence” in which it is to be expressed.
* The title of this work was generated using my cellphone’s automatic suggestion prompt. The grammatical failure (“red and green and blue”) becomes an attribute of the technique used to write it.
